Morocco defeated Canada 2-1 in Group F of the first round of the World Cup in Qatar on Sunday to advance to the final tournament for the first time in 36 years.

In the World Cup Qatar soccer tournament, referee Frapal (France) became the first woman to referee the men's World Cup match between Costa Rica and Germany in Group E of the first league on 1 September.

The assistant referees are also female referees Bakchi (Brazil) and Diaz (Mexico). Referee Frapal, who has experience refereeing in the European Champions League (CL), communicated with the players and calmly judged the match with a stern attitude when a skirmish was about to occur.

This is the first time a female referee has been selected for the Men's World Cup, and Japan referee Yoshimi Yamashita is also on the roster.

Japan was 0-1 in the second half, and Kaoru Mitoma and Ritsu Doan were introduced. Yuto Nagatomo and Takefusa Kubo dropped to the bench.

Japan equalized early in the second half when newly introduced Ritsu Doan (Freiburg) scored a left-footed shot. Doan scored the goal following the first match against Germany.

In the second half, Ritsu Doan equalized Japan a goal from Aoi Tanaka. Ritsu Doan's cross from the right flank was turned in by Kaoru Mitoma and Tanaka pushed it in.
