From cliff edge to final Argentina crown champions for first time in 36 years at World Cup
The semi-finals of the World Cup Qatar took place on 13 December (14 Japan hours), and Argentina defeated Croatia to advance to the final for the first time in two tournaments.
The "males of South America" showed their strength. They defeated Croatia, who were humiliated at the last World Cup in Russia 2018, and clinched the title for the first time in 36 years.
In the previous tournament, they faced runners-up Croatia in the first round, and lost 0-3 after blocking a pass to their reliable ace Messi. Unable to shake off the shock, they advanced to the final tournament but lost to France in the first round.
In the four years since then, the team has moved away from its dependence on Messi and won last year's South American Championship for the first time in 28 years.
Defender Tagliafico, who started against Croatia in the last World Cup, exuded confidence while being wary of Croatia's ever-changing midfield. "It's going to be a completely different game from four years ago because we're a different team and we're going to make them suffer with our attacks". True to his word, he defeated a difficult opponent.
I've overcome the big number of times. They lost to Saudi Arabia in the first match of the first round and were suddenly in danger of being eliminated, but they won back-to-back games against Mexico and Poland to break through in first place. In the quarter-finals, they shook off the powerhouse Netherlands on penalties.
Coach Scaloni said, "If you do what you have to do, you will find your way to your goal." Faith in a team that has come together around Messi and has become more resilient is unwavering.
In 1978, when the tournament was held in Japan, the third summit was imminent, following the '86 tournament called "Maradona's Games". Coach Scaloni said: "Our goal is to take care of each and every match, without thinking about the rest." A moment of joy awaits ahead.

Exciting with the longing Messi Argentina forward Alvarez realizes his dream World Cup
Argentina defeated Croatia 3-0 to advance to the final of the World Cup Qatar on 13 December (14 Japan hours).
He arrived at the highest stage with the hero he had admired since he was a boy. Argentina's final was headed by big ace Messi and 22-year-old Alvarez.
Five minutes after captain Messi opened the scoring with a penalty awarded by Alvarez.
In the 39th minute of the first half, a counter from a spilled ball by the opponent's goalkeeper. Alvarez, who had the ball in his own half, cut through the opponent's 50 meters at once with outstanding propulsion. He was fortunate enough to have the ball spill at his feet after it was about to be stolen in front of the opponent's goal, and he won a one-on-one with the goalkeeper with his right foot to score an additional goal.
In the 24th minute of the second half, a combination of two men sealed the victory. Messi dribbled down the right flank and turned the ball into the box before Alvarez carefully slotted it in with his right foot. Immediately afterwards, he walked over to Messi and hugged him and shared his joy.
When he was 15, Alvarez posted a souvenir photo with Messi on his Instagram account titled "The Birthday of the Greatest Player of All Time". The day was June 24, 2015. It was Messi's 28th birthday. I dreamed of one day being on the pitch with a superstar.
Seven years have passed since then. They are fighting together in the "last World Cup" of heroes in the next position. At the age of 35, Messi, who has less exercise, is eager to run around the front line to concentrate on attacking. He has already scored four goals in this tournament, including scoring from a high press that makes use of his abundant athleticism. Attention has skyrocketed for the young striker, who grew up in his native powerhouse River Plate and has been making a splash with English Premier League side Manchester City since this season.
Alvarez, now Messi's indispensable 'partner', said: "I'm very happy, it was a good game both individually and as a team. It's the win we've been looking for and we want more." The "dream story" he drew as a boy is about to reach its best ending.
