The Tokyo District Court ruled on March 7 to grant bail to three defendants, including Hironori Aoki, 83, the former chairman of AOKI Holdings (HD), a major men's clothing company, who was charged with bribery in a corruption case involving the selection of sponsors for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The former chairman's bail bond is 300 million yen.

Other bail decisions were made by Takahisa Aoki, 76, the brother of the former chairman and former vice chairman of the company, and Yuhisa Ueda, the company's managing executive officer.

In the corruption case surrounding the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors' Special Investigation Division searched the headquarters of Park24, a parking lot service company and sponsor of the Games, in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo on May 7, and voluntarily interviewed executives who were in charge of the Olympic business. According to officials, the company signed a sponsorship agreement with the Games Organizing Committee in July 2018.
